31. Auckland, New Zealand
So finally the last stop before saying bye to the parents! Auckland was also the only stop where we stayed in the same place for more than one night, in other words, we’ve been hopping around from one place to another, checking out in the morning, in daily basis for 9 consecutive days. What a profound different this makes! They refuse to wake up, stay in bed the whole day, didn’t even bother exploring what is outside. Well, this made sense because mother had been sleeping in the car every day. This got me thinking all she wants to do on holidays is to sleep, yet she wants to go somewhere fancy. A place like Thailand would suit her well, but why is she keep on burdening me to sleep continuously in all these expensive places. On a positive note, it maybe that I have distanced myself from these empty shell lives my family and many Koreans are stuck in. My values have shifted away from my parents; therefore, we see more incompatible views, even compared to two years ago. At the end all these days of traveling may lead me to the kind of life unimaginable (or unacceptable should I say) to them. Anyways, what awaits? Freedom!!!
