Sechster Tag in Berlin
A nice clear day, sunshine throughout the day made me feel like this winter is almost coming to an end. I wish I had arrived here when it is warmer, but it’s nice to see the gradual shift of the season, and the climate is only gonna get better from now, hopefully. Had a rather long but pleasant walk around der Stadt mit Brigitte. Perhaps she felt sympathetic towards my somewhat hikikomori behavior, so had an urge to take me out & show me around the city.
Maybe she is right. The nine months will go by ganz schnell that I might end up leaving the city without having seen much. Looking back to my time in London, it was only after two years when I felt I know the city well enough. Moreover, there are lots more places worth visiting in Germany. Even once I start taking monthly weekend trips to nearby cities, not sure if I will get to know the German culture well enough. Well, that’s always the case with traveling. With Easter approaching in a week, I find myself already wondering about where I could go traveling. There are many things on my mind right now, but gotta constantly remind myself all else is meaningless unless I deliver a satisfactory job. After a year of break from work, this ambivalence of excitement & anxiety keeps me wide awake this night before my first day at work. I feel there is more on stake than any other time, but I must have gone through this every time I started on a new project. Just need a sense of determination that I am fcking gonna rock or more like… survive as long as it takes. (at Berlin Hauptbahnhof)
