Zehnter Tag in Berlin
I feel very lucky to have this job. There is a lost happening within the company trying to consolidate all the recent acquisitions and move towards one common objective, but without any urgency for delivery at the moment, it’s possibly the best environment for returning back to work after a gap year. And on top of that I get to live in this cool city & learn German! Another laidback day at the office followed by a slow breakfast with Erik. Jascha got some work done to show for the end of the week report, I submitted my first timesheet, & about to begin yet another holidays!
As it was the last day before the long weekend, there was a happy hour gathering as one would often find in shared office spaces, and I got to meet a few more people in the office. There’s something about this city, everyone seems so polite, full of energy; there’s a sentiment of high optimism, which definitely helps lift my mood. This could have been not one of the best times in my life, as I’m in a country yet foreign to me, without my own place, financially somewhat tight, still got loads of other things to take care of, but I have to realize and be grateful that it was the kindness these people around me have shown me in the past ten days which kept my spirit high and ensure there is no doubt of leaving this city anytime soon. Berlin, I’ll miss you for the next 4 days. (at Denkmal für die Ermordeten Juden Europas)
