Happy New year from Petra! This completed my visits to the new seven wonders of the world.
8. Petra, Wadi Musa, Jordan
It was the day of long walks, not a bad way to spend the first day of the year. I didn’t realize how much there was to see inside as I expected there would be just one stone faรงade, but there were actually tens, all serving different purposes plus all the usual Roman archaeological remains like temples, arena, and so on. End of the day, I managed to cover all major areas, guess the better picture spot is the treasury which was way too crowded to get proper photo. Despite getting a 3-day ticket, didn’t want to bother going all the way back in, especially before another long drive.
Now that I’ve seen most of the wonders from human civilization, the man-made structures hardly impressed me as much the natural beauty. Even here I found the natural scenery more mesmerizing than how the earlier settlers carved stones around it. I think slowly over time, I come to realize what I like and value.
