Day 18 Kuta
Time to glow! It was one hell of a party, at a spectacular location at the southern tip of the peninsula. One of those places where honeymooners get to stare at the ocean all day for a grand per night. It was quite a contrast from what I have seen in Kuta, I was glad to experience the other side of life in Bali. The beach party also gave me the glance on the high life enjoyed by the expats who live here for whatever they are doing. Somehow ended up hanging out with a bunch of Brits, some of them working here, or here for a long holidays, every expat at the party seemed to reside in Seminyak. I also got to swim before the sun went down, got face painted, enjoyed overpriced liquors, it was the kind of fun I haven’t had for some years, but I also felt lost in this somewhat superficial environment. While each district in Bali seems to cater for different personality types, I felt like I had enough of both Seminyak and Australian party goers filled Kuta. It was a good time to move onto Ubud. Looking back in the calendar records, I had gone out on a date every day this week. Now I wonder why I didn’t just stay there for longer, but quite often I find that a sense of chastity kicks into my mind at the best times, damn left brain.
