In little more than 19 hours, Google will begin its annual developer conference at its usual place, Moscone Centre, San Francisco. It is interesting that, although Google I/O was announced to be held in June, a month later than usual, Google follows the weeks of sequential events held by Apple and Microsoft, which gets me to think that many of stuff Google will present tomorrow will reflect on what the its competitions have announced earlier. Lately, Google has done absolutely nothing surprising, though I am still a huge fan and dedicated user of Google services. Unless they come up with something brilliant, I speculate that the event will pretty much focus on the following products.
1. Android introduction of Jelly Bean, with anticipation of catching up with iPad features
2. Chrome I have a feeling that extensions will be the key section for Chrome, including Google Drive apps.
3. Google+ I haven't noticed anything new in Google+ lately, but it's about time Google+ shifts its strategy away from being a Facebook clone.
Cliché: Apple introduces iOS6 and OSX Mountain Lion; Microsoft announces Windows 8 for computer, tablet and mobiles. Now that Chrome is Google's desktop asset, along with Android for phones and tablets, this month becomes everything about platforms. Now that Microsoft seems to have built itself a finite foundation to start catching up to the other two, the three-way battle between three for control of both mobile and computing world will be fierce than ever.
