Would have chosen the image of touché, iconic Dom Luis I Bridge, but I happened to be standing on the bridge in this golden moment. Can’t plan for the perfection & enjoy the life at the same time.

Porto, Portugal

So here I am finally, against all odds. It felt almost like the universe doesn’t want me here. A week ago, the mileage flight to Porto wasn’t available for the entire week, when I finally found a way around, I couldn’t find accommodation within my budget, trains sold out for the weekend, and so on, but I eventually found the way here, and it was all definitely worth the trouble. I wonder how my week has turned out to be if I came here last week because yes, perhaps it is the universe acting again, looks like I have to return to London this weekend.

The day before I left Malaga, I was strolling down the beach after a late lunch, I got a phone call from a recruiter whom I got in touch on linkedin 3 days earlier. He asked for a phone interview in an hour, which I reluctantly accepted because I had nothing better to do. A dull sounding job initially turned out to be a good opportunity, if not ending up chaotic, and we had a pretty good chat. Upon landing, I turn on my phone, there is a missed call, a text message, an email from the recruite. What else could this possibly mean? Good thing that it’s a long weekend because I would have hated to board on another flight without even leaving the airport. I even found a bonus flight for Monday return despite this being high season. At the end, just like I wanted, I find a job while chilling on the beach✌️

So looks like again it’s gonna be a short stay in Portugal. Like my previous visits to Portugal, both of which had been a short detour from relatively longer trips to Spain, Porto will be my favorite destination of this trip. Next time, Portugal definitely deserves a long enough trip of its own.
