34. Patong Bay, Thailand
I have left Thailand today, but in the past few days, found out that two of my friends are also visiting, next week and three weeks later respectively. So there is another reason I should quickly catch up with delayed postings in order to communicate my current whereabouts.
After New Zealand, I wanted to return to Southeast Island, the region I wished to spend more time back in 2017. It was pretty much my first time to visit the area properly; yet the monsoon season got me to drift away for a return next time. So I decided to book a multi stop flight to Singapore, the only city in the region with a direct connection from Nadi. Initially I planned to spend a few days, then I changed my mind on the day of flight. I’ve already been in Singapore once, so why not go somewhere I haven’t been, anywhere that has connecting flights to in approximately two hours of my arrival time in Singapore. So that’s how I ended up in Phuket. It turned out to be a good decision somewhat. Here I can relax, recover my body and mind through Thai massage, indulge in eating, and simply chill for a few days by the beach. Nowadays people probably don’t come here for the beach necessarily, but doing nothing for a few days in a town like this is ever more healing, the best part of the long term journey.
