Day 61 Mauritius

Four more days until I finally catch upto my first post last year and free myself from another daily duty. Somehow messed up the dates again and wrote two posts for one of the days; I guess procrastination comes with a price even after catching up. My first visit to sub-Saharan Africa, really I didn’t know what to expect, it was also a bit frightening not knowing what I’m throwing myself into. Having been to Sri Lanka and Indonesia where herds of scary looking taxi drivers lurking around the airport, I expected the worse, but silly me, Mauritius is a holiday resort destination, it was rather quiet and well organized. Booked a taxi before walking out the door, then there seemed to be a queue of taxi drivers. To my surprise, the taxi driver looked like a Chinese, also a relief as I have to get to the other side of the island in the middle of night, something I should have avoided when traveling to unknown territory and considered before booking the flight. Well, it all worked out nicely at the end, at least I can relax for four more days I thought.
