Thought I would write the missing travel log for the first 50 days, which I meant to do since returning home. Now that I have written in retrospective for 3 consecutive days, I now feel more confident about my recollections. I will try my best to recount on the events and thoughts that came across a year ago each day.
Grand tour day 3 in Colombo
Looking back, I don’t know what I was doing in the middle of nowhere strolling around the outskirts of the city where no one bothers going to. Suppose I needed a break to chill after a week of traveling with the family, but Colombo wasn’t just the place for that. It only occured to me later that most tourists would have stayed in the fort area and take a train trip to elsewhere, namely Kandy or Galle. As this was the last night booked in Colombo, I would have to move on. Three days have passed and not really having done anything in Sri Lanka, I decided to stay for a few more days. My sis recommended me Trincomalee, which she heard from either a tv show or some travel blog. Seemed like only 300kms away but not realising how long it would take to get there, I decided that I will buy the train ticket first thing in the morning. So this is why one buys a travel guide.
