The new office, again the new beginnings. Spent the morning setting up the workstation, only to find out that the internet isn’t working🤣 For that, another slack day! Like the new office and this cool trendy area it’s in. The only problem with it is the long commute. Tried two different routes, both ended up taking about an hour, which could have been shorter if U1 isn’t on repair or M29 arrives on time. Gonna try the third alternative tomorrow morning. For a city of population barely 3.5 million, the collection of 9 U-bahn lines, together with circling S-bahn, trams, double-decker buses, long buses, (the only things missing in this city are aerial cable cars & funicular) is more than adequate. Flexible work hours make the commute even more comfortable, but even better, after three weeks I will be able to walk to work. On the way back home, on hour long bus rides, I passed by various areas I haven’t seen before and realized how not a single tree is found in most streets. I suppose many of the communal gardens are surrounded by the buildings, invisible from the streets, but on a gloomy day like this, it feels as though I’m in the darkest city on the planet. People here say that the entire city comes to life in spring time, so guess I should wait and see before I make my final verdict. (at Skalitzer Straße)
