The table is turning back. Just a night after feeling defeated, somehow all the cold calls I took this afternoon lead to new overseas opportunities. Now I know that some people actually read my LinkedIn status, or rather search for profiles containing buzzwords nordics, Germany, etc. I have three new processes ongoing, all in least expected locations: Leeuwarden, Oslo & Stockholm!
Something leads me to believe I am about to end up in Sweden. The day I returned to London, I spent the weekend watching women’s curling matches, with the Scottish girls being the only athletes I recognize from Sochi. It soon came to my attention the chief nemesis who brought down both the team GB & South Korea is this cute Swedish skip, whom without any doubt I started cheering for. Forget nationality or homeland, sportsman fandom is a different thing! Anyways, I do respect their self-reliant nature, and wish to continue what I had not quite enjoyed there 5 years ago.
I had my first face to face interview this afternoon, 7th overall this season. The technical assessment part was rather easy, to my relief, followed by repetitive, meaningless conversation I have with everyone else. Something like this may be easy win, but I realized even at the risk of extended period without a job, I want to chase after a job abroad. It will be more complicated, I will probably earn less, end up paying more taxes (fck socialism), but it will be worth it. It’s something I always do, chasing after more seemingly harder. Makes my life more difficult, but every moment is worth more when I look back. Got 3 phone interviews tomorrow, 2 of which London based, telling myself I only do it for sake of practice.
My parents arrived this evening with my winter clothing, & my violin. Planning an itinerary for them has never been easier while I have no idea how to plan my own. Got no house, no income, no certain future, but I will somehow juggle my way through, and it will be epic. (at West India Quay)
