Content Migration

As a response to the boost of mobile web usage, and need to minimize business operational costs, Hoonio.com is announcing yet another major website reconstruction in terms of structure, content and provision mechanism. The new frontpage is scheduled to launch on 25th of September, 2011, while some portion of the services, particularly those of sub-domains will be made available for public access as they become ready beforehand  To summarise  reconstruction scheme(so to be called Version 3.0) includes the following:

  • Google Sites hosting, as to utilize well-integrated Google web services which seems to be economical solution as well as providing high-speed global access. Tradeoffs between customisability customisability vs. usability plus cost-effectiveness is well justifiable when considering simple is the way to go for mobile browsing and amount of work needs to put on for compatibility.
  • MediaWiki Google Sites: The Sites service itself functions in similar behaviour as wikis, and more user friendly interface; therefore, it is a perfect alternative and resolution to get rid of http hosting service completely.
  • WordPress Blogger(another service fromGoogle), for the same reason.
  • Creation of corporate pages,to overtake the existing www domain for own usage. It will include corporate information, financial reports, list of products and customer support materials.
  • FaceBook Foto(Picasa, Sites): As part of growing cloud phenomenon, need for preserving high quality photographs online clearly cannot be met by Facebook’s sociality centric platform. Especially, retaining originalEXIF data including dates, geo-tag and partly automated face-tagging feature are the major benefits.
  • iWeb Justino(Sites): similarly, a separate, dedicated placeholder for photos
  • Feria pages: Some of people should have already seen that Danse Mélancolique site was already running onGoogle Sites as a test platform. Photos and videos will be added soon, at the same time Esoterica gets integrated into the new suite.
  • my.Hoonio.com: Pretty much the remainder which used to be part of the FrontPage and about me. Now that the main domain is passed on to corporate usage, this will be the main place for the all personal contents. Moreover, as twitter has proven to be a quicker communication tool compared to various forms of blogs, this sub-domain will serve as the central personal interaction platform.
