For those of familiar with IE tab for Mozilla Firefox and just love how simple and convenient Google's new web browser is must have wondered whether they can stick with Chrome for all sorts of pages. Well, I believe Google will solve this problem anytime soon, but for now this is the optimal solution. I recently came across solving this question. Though this issue is also discussed in several other forums, I thought things are not quite clearly explained and some people seem to have their questions unanswered. Let's see if this helps.
1. Download and install MeadCo's Neptune
2. After installation, npmeadax.dll can be found under C:\Program Files\MeadCo Neptune
3. Copy the file to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\plugin. If the plugin folder does not exist, create one.
4. Run regsvr32.exe npmeadax.dll
5. Now highlight the following code and drag it to the bookmarks bar. Save it as a bookmarklet:
javascript:(function (){var lh=location.href; if( !lh || lh.match(/^(javascript|about):/i) )return; document.write('

'+(document.title?document.title:lh).replace(/</g,'<').replace(/>/g,'>')+' - using Internet Explorer rendering

<body style=\'margin:0px;padding:0px;\'>

'); })();
6. Restart Google Chrome, and execute the bookmarklet just-created whenever you come across an IE-only webpage.
My friend and I were recently discussing about how technology has become so integrated in our day to day lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that debate we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.
ReplyDeleteI don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further advances, the possibility of transferring our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I dream about almost every day.
